After I uploaded the first version of Square Travel, I chatted to the brilliant poet and performer Abi Palmer. She gave me some invaluable advice about how the flow is stilted by a lack of instruction/invitation at the beginning of the poem. There wasn't any guide as to where things would be happening, or if it even would, on screen. This meant that, especially when played on a touchscreen, it was most likely that all four sections would be triggered immediately. The reader was confronted by a whole bunch of noise straight away, instead of unveiling a section at a time, and learning what they could do and what things corresponded to others. Version 2 has a guide square that appears at the outset and fades away after a few seconds.
